INTRO:
G C D C G

G C
I was born secular and inconsolable
D C G
I heard that he walked, he walked the earth
Em D
God goes where he wants,
Em D (D7)
and who knows where he is not
G Em D (D7)
not in me

G
It's the way mothers greet their sons
C
when it's a moment too late
D C G
It's the law of the land that sometimes the dam just breaks.
Em D (D7)
God works in mysterious ways
Em D (D7)
and God gives, and then he takes
G Em D (D7)
from me
