F#m
I went to the live nude cabaret
Dmaj7
To see what I could see
F#m
And I saw the ladies dancing
Dmaj7 C#7
And I guess that they saw me
F#m Dmaj7
Neither did I vanquish or surrender to desire
F#m
But what I saw revealed to me
C#7 F#m
Was just more fuel on the fire

|Dmaj7 C#7 |Dmaj7 C#7 |Dmaj7 C#7 |Dmaj7 C#7 |

F#m
I’ve heard form follows function
Dmaj7
And I think that much is true
F#m
Especially when you think of
Dmaj7 C#7
What the female form will do
F#m
Its lines and shapes are everywhere
Dmaj7
As if they follow me
F#m C#7 F#m
Repeating my own longing in everything I see

E A/E E C#(#5)/F
Star of happiness star of love
F#m
Lead us to the shore
Dmaj7 C#7
That only women hold the promise of
F#m
Men would give them money
Dmaj7
And men would give them gold
A
And shower them with promises
C#7
Of luxury untold
F#m
And make their vessels of creation
Dmaj7
The temples of our souls
F#m C#7 F#m
Ohhhhh let my people go

|F#m |Dmaj7 |F#m |C#7 F#m |2/4 F#m |

E A/E E C#(#5)/F
Sea of loneliness sea of love
F#m
Carry me upon our endless depths
Dmaj7 C#7
And bear my heart above
F#m
For I would give her money
Dmaj7
And I would give her jewels
A C#7
And lead her to the palace my imagination rules
F#m
And fashion from her nakedness
Dmaj7
The innocence that’s gone
F#m C#7 F#m
Gone as the time she’s given the suffering of fools
