The Great Exhale

Intro: Em D C Em D C

Em D C
Look at the names carved into rocks
Em D C
Look at the days when they were lit up
Em D C G
Brush of my hand and I feel their age
Em D C
Years of radiance, years of rain

G D C
And the world stops spinning when you stop spinning
G D C
Sighs when you sigh when you sigh
Em D C G
I'm coming home so leave the light on for me
Em D C G
I'm drawing over the luminous veil
Em D C G
When I get in I will see you all there
Em D C G
I'm drawing on the great exhale

Em D C Em D C

Em D C
Uncertain ground so I walk lightly
Em D C
Translating names of lost families
Em D C G
Somebodys' sleeping that you should not wake
Em D C
Drifting whispers over damp clay

G D C
And the world stops spinning when you stop spinning
G D C
Sighs when you sigh when you sigh
Em D C G
I'm coming home so leave the light on for me
Em D C G
I'm drawing over the luminous veil
Em D C G
When I get in I will see you all there
Em D C G
I'm drawing on the great exhale
Em D C G
Wide open spaces
Em D C G
Been asleep a long time
Em D C G
Punctuating places
Em D C G
Coming up like old teeth

Em D C G
I'm coming home so leave the light on for me
Em D C G
I'm drawing over the luminous veil
Em D C G
When I get in I will see you all there
Em D C G
I'm drawing on the great exhale

Em D C G
I'm soaring in on the great exhale

Em D C Em D C
