Gone 2am

This slanting road goes on forever

Espresso shot

The night so deep

But I’ve got promises to keep
C C Am G D C
And I’ve got miles upon miles upon miles to go before I sleep

[Chorus]
C G
By night and day
C G
By motorway
Em C G D
I’ll get there any godforsaken way
G
By road or rail
C G
By sea to sail
Em C G D
If there’s a way home I won’t fail
C
I’ll take my time
G D C
A steady 70 straight down the line
Em D C
Only one thing on my mind
Em D C
Hell or high water come down
G
I’m northbound

One more late night

On the northern line

And up to King’s Cross I will follow

Guitar on back and I’m right on track
Em C D
Always racing with tomorrow

And coast to coast
G
I ride alone
C
Just one more ghost

On the last train home
C C Am G D C
And I’ve got miles upon miles upon miles to go before I’m home

[Chorus]
C G
By night and day
C G
By motorway
Em C G D
I’ll get there any godforsaken way
G
By road or rail
C G
By sea to sail
Em C G D
If there’s a way home I won’t fail
C
I’ll take my time
G D C
A steady 70 straight down the line
Em D C
Only one thing on my mind

Hell or high water come down

I’m northbound

Toronto to Ohio

Vancouver to Chicago
G D
Halfway to Colorado

And down from North Dakota
C
Into Buffalo, New York
G D
I tell you every time we talk
D C
If I could get to you, I’d walk

G C G Em C D G C G Em C D

[Chorus]
C G
By night and day
