CAPO I

[Intro]
G Cadd9 G Cadd9

[Verse 1]
G
A gang of kids on our pedal bikes
Cadd9
In a dusty town we’d ride
G Cadd9
To the General Store for Popeye cigarettes
G Cadd9
Class of ’99, yea we lived, laughed, loved and cried
G Cadd9
Took for granted that those days would never end
D Cadd9
Livin’ like that yearbook picture wouldn’t fade
Cadd9 D C
And some standing right beside me, I might never see again

[Chorus]
G Cadd9
The trouble is, you think you have time
G Cadd9
You think tomorrow’s always comin' down the line
G Cadd9
And then one day, you wake up and you find
Cadd9 D G
The trouble is you thought you had time

G Cadd9

[Verse 2]
G
Suit and tie and a fancy job
Cadd9
Big ol’ house, two car garage
G Cadd9
He works hard for his wife and his son
G Cadd9
An empty seat at tee-ball games is just a sacrifice he’ll make
G Cadd9
He’ll make it up when next weekend comes along
D Cadd9
Years go by and that day comes too soon
Cadd9 D C
That boy goes off to college, you stand in his empty room

[Chorus]
G Cadd9
The trouble is, you think you have time
G Cadd9
You think tomorrow’s always comin' down the line
G Cadd9
And then one day, you wake up and you find
Cadd9 D G
The trouble is you thought you had time

[Solo]
G Cadd9 G D Em D C D C

[Verse 3]
G
Shotgun shells and a tackle box
Cadd9
On the floorboard of a truck
G Cadd9
Morning sun burnin' fog off a lake
G
Teenage girl with her Grandad
Cadd9
He takes her fishin', but he feels bad
G Cadd9
She can’t take her eyes off that ol’ Facebook page
D Cadd9
But someday soon, who knows how long
Cadd9 D
She’ll look up from that phone and he’ll be gone

[Chorus]
G Cadd9
The trouble is, you think you have time
G Cadd9
You think tomorrow’s always comin' down the line
G Cadd9
And then one day, you wake up and you find
Cadd9 D Em G Cadd9
The trouble is you thought you had time
Cadd9 D G Cadd9
The trouble is you think you have time

[Outro]
G Cadd9
G Cadd9
Ooooooooooooo...
