CAPO: 2nd Fret

INTRO: C

F C G
I wake to the radio morning news
F C
Just as the day is dawning
F C G
And I watch from the window while a passing cloud
F C
Dulls the hopeful morning
G F C
And I wonder will the girl I love
F C G
Come back with the morning
C F C G
But the omen crow at the waking hour
F C
Has given me fair warning

CHORUS:
G F
And the heart that's breaking
C
Never makes a sound
G F
And the heart that's breaking
C
Never makes a sound

F C G
She was once my heart's delight
F C
My need and my desire
F C G
She was my day, she was my night
F C
My water and my fire
G F C
And I was once the same to her
F C G
When we still walked together
C F C G
But the heavy heart at the waking hour's
F C
Expecting heavy weather

CHORUS:
G F
And the heart that's breaking
C
Never makes a sound
G F
And the heart that's breaking
C
Never makes a sound

INSTRUMENTAL: C F C G F C F C G F C

F C G
I know love, I've seen love's face
F C
And I understand its sorrow
F C G
For every love I've ever had
F C
Has always met tomorrow
G F C
Though I am Wednesday's child of woe
F C G
I try not to be ungrateful
C F C G
But I was born at midnight black
F C
With a heart that can be hateful

CHORUS:
G F
And the heart that's breaking
C
Never makes a sound
G F
And the heart that's breaking
C
Never makes a sound
G F
And the heart that's breaking
C
Never makes a sound

OUTRO: G F C G C
