David Francey - Highway

CAPO: 4th Fret

INTRO: C G F Cadd9 C G F C

G F C
Down on that highway, on that highway side
G C
You can watch the big trucks, you can watch 'em roll by
G F C
Stand in the wind that they'll leave far behind
G F C
You can stand there and savour your own peace of mind

CHORUS:
F Csus4 G C
On that highway
F Csus4 G C
On that highway

C G F C
Under the overpass, rear mirror view
G C
I came out of the shadow to a memory of you
G F C
Talking miles with the driver, killing boredom and time
G F C
On the fields of Saskatchewan cut by the line

CHORUS:
F Csus4 G C
Of that highway
F Csus4 G C
Of that highway

C G F C
And It's too late for summer, too early for snow
G C
And the diesels are lined up, there's ten in a row
G F C
The waitress in the truck stop keeps the countertop shined
G F C
And there's music from the cowboy bar, three-quarter time

INSTRUMENTAL: C G F C G C G F C G F C

CHORUS:
F Csus4 G C
On that highway
F Csus4 G C
On that highway

CHORUS:
F Csus4 G C
On that highway
F Csus4 G C
On that highway

G F C
Stare down the sun, smoke your last cigarette
G C
And the day's nearly done and you're no further yet
G F C
No divine intervention, no divine sleight of hand
G F C
Would leave you abandoned, forever to stand

CHORUS:
F Csus4 G C
On that highway
F Csus4 G C
On that highway

CHORUS:
F Csus4 G C
On that highway
F Csus4 G C
On that highway
