David Gates (Tulsa, Oklahoma, 11 de Dezembro de 1940) é um cantor norte-americano e ex-integrante da banda Bread.
Biografia
Vocalista e tecladista da banda, Gates sempre esteve rodeado pela música, sendo excelente pianista, baixista e guitarrista durante a escola secundária.
Em 1957, seu primeiro êxito, Jo-Baby, foi registrado por Chuck Berry. David a escreveu para sua namorada Jo Rita, com quem ele se casou e teve filhos enquanto estudavam na Universidade de Oklahoma.
