Chris Rene parecia estar no fundo do poço quando encontrou-se viciado em drogas, mas tudo mudou quando ele entrou na reabilitação e dois meses depois participou do The X-Factor USA 2011. Compositor, produtor e cantor: esse foi o Chris Rene que ganhou o terceiro lugar do programa e logo após isso assinou um contrato com a Epic Records, de L.A Reid, seu mentor.
