Biografia:
Nascido e criado em New Jersey, Bill Evans formou-se em piano em 1950 na Southeastern Louisiana University. Depois do serviço militar, foi para Nova Iorque em 1954. Ali tocou no quarteto de Tony Scott e conheceu o compositor George Russell. Em 1956, gravou seu primeiro disco, New Jazz Conceptions, já incluindo aquela que se tornaria a sua mais conhecida composição, “Waltz for Debbie”. Em 1958, Evans tocou por oito meses no famoso quinteto de Miles Davis, participando inclusive do histórico disco Kind of Blue.
