Barry Mc Guire,nascido em 15 de Outubro de 1937 em Oklahoma City,O.K. Mc Guire pertence à geração de trovadores folk da década dos 60:Bob Dylan,Joan Baez,Peter.Paul & Mary...Na sua juventude Barry Mc Guire se muda para New York e inicia a sua carreira musical como vocalista e guitarrista do grupo The New Christy Minstrels.
Tempo depois sua personalidade chama a atenção do produtor Lou Adler e o cantor folk P.F.Sloan.No ano 1963 grava o seu primeiro disco solo:The Barry Mc Guire Album
