Tears Over Beers

Modern Baseball

Biografia:

Brendan Lukens and Jake Ewald were high school friends from Brunswick, Maryland who began as an acoustic duo before relocating to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to attend college; Lukens at Chestnut Hill College, and Ewald at Drexel University. They then met drummer Sean Huber and bassist Ian Farmer. Their name was inspired by a book that Lukens and Ewald found entitled “Modern Baseball Techniques” – owned by Ewald’s father on the evening they decided to form a band.

The other acoustic was fine but this is the real way that they play it using the same video
In the video he plays it a half step down but the tuning doesn't really matter, there are no open notes
Follow the acoustic videos that they have playing this song for the strum pattern.

C# D#7sus2 DmM7 C#
When I was just a boy, we'll call it 15 or so,
D#7sus2 DmM7 C#
I found myself annoyed by a syndrome of sorts in my bones
D#7sus2 DmM7 C#
That girl who's next to me, she found herself bored to tears
D#7sus2 DmM7 C#
She realized if she wanted conversation, she's out of luck for three more years

C# D#7sus2 DmM7 C#
When I moved away from home, 100 miles or so,
D#7sus2 DmM7 C#
I knew a change had grown inside my awkwardly long limbs and bones
D#7sus2 DmM7 C#
That girl who's next to me, she's friendly and thoughtful and quite awfully pretty,
D#7sus2 DmM7 C#
But all she has to say is a meat head-themed monologue on why Brad ran away

C#5 D#7sus4 F#sus2 F#5
She said, "All I can hope for is for me to get better,
C#5 D#7sus4 F#5 G#5
'cause all I can take is no more.
A#m7 C#5/G# F#sus2 G#5
I'll win him back again, we'll be lovers, best friends.
C#5 D#7sus4 F#sus2 C#5 D#7sus4 F#sus2
He won't need no other woman like he did way back when he was with me.

C#5 D#7sus4 F#sus2
He needed more than me
C#5 D#7sus4 F#sus2
I'm friendly and thoughtful and quite awfully pretty,
C#5 D#7sus4 F#sus2
But he needed more than me."

C#5 D#7sus4 F#sus2 C#5 D#7sus4 F#sus2
When I felt that I should leave, we'll call it midnight or so,
C#5 D#7sus4 F#sus2 C#5 D#7sus4 F#sus2
I found myself annoyed by a syndrome of sorts in her bones
C#5 D#7sus4 F#sus2 C#5 D#7sus4 F#sus2
That girl who's next to me, she don't know her worth in this town,
C#5 D#7sus4 F#sus2
'cause her face starts to shine when that meat head behind me
C#5 D#7sus4 F#sus2
Is grinning as he's checking her out

C#5 D#7sus4 F#sus2 F#5
I said, "All I can hope for is for you to get better,
C#5 D#7sus4 F#sus2 G#5
'cause all I can take is no more.
A#m7 C#5/G# F#sus2 G#5
I'll hide where I can, away from you and your friends,
A#m7 C#5/G# F#sus2 G#5
Leaking tears over beers once again.
A#m7 C#5/G# F#sus2 G#5
Leaking tears over beers once again,
A#m7 C#5/G# F#sus2
You're leaking tears over beers once again."
