Biografia:
Matmatah es un grupo de rock fundado en Brest (Francia) en 1995, cuando Stan y Sammy (que formaban entonces un duo llamado "Tricards Twins") conocen a Eric y Fanch en los bares de Brest.
Stan propone Matmatah como nombre para el grupo, en referencia al pueblo troglodita tunecino de mismo nombre.
En Julio de 1997, Matmatah saca su primer single donde destacan las canciones "Lambé An Dro" y "Les Moutons". El exito les viene de inmediato gracias a su rock con toques celtas, vendiendo asi 30 000 ejemplares de su primer single.
