Biografia:
Nascida na cidade de Canton, em Ohio, no dia 6 de setembro de 1967, Natalie Renee McIntyre ou simplesmente Macy Gray entrou tarde no mundo da música, com quase trinta anos. Fã de RnB desde pequena, a cantora costumava ouvir os discos de seu pai, que eram compostos basicamente por astros como Sly Stone, James Brown, Marvin Gaye e Stevie Wonder.
Quando se mudou para Los Angeles, Macy entrou para uma banda de standards de jazz. Foi durante essa época que ela começou a gravar suas primeiras fitas demo.
