Little Richard tem lugar cativo na história do rock'n'roll como um de seus pioneiros e maiores nomes em todos os tempos. Sua postura cênica, seu confrontamento radical aos tabus raciais e sexuais, o ritmo selvagem e primitivo de sua música, seu estilo de vida, seu jeito de vestir-se, falar e dançar o transformaram-no perante a juventude, num símbolo da rejeição aos valores da classe média.
