Laura Jansen é baseada em Los Angeles, a cantora e compositora holandesa . Jansen estabeleceu-se como uma regular no local de música ao vivo no Los Angeles Hotel Cafe antes de ganhar ainda mais notoriedade no seu país natal, Holanda. A filha de uma mãe americana e pai holandês, ela tem dupla cidadania, nos Estados Unidos e Holanda.
Sua música tem sido destaque na televisão mostra Newport Harbor e O Mundo Real: Cancun.
Ela já viajou com Joshua Radin por seis semanas, como parte de sua banda em 2008
