The Uncluded

Biografia:

The Uncluded is a duo that consists of Aesop Rock and Kimya Dawson.

In 2007, while on tour supporting his album None Shall Pass, indie rapper/producer Aesop Rock wrote a fan email to folk singer/songwriter Kimya Dawson. A few years later, in 2010, they reconnected during the creation of arts-and-oddities blog 900Bats, which in turn sparked the pair's collaborative musical efforts. After appearing on each other's respective recent solo records, Aesop Rock's Skelethon and Kimya Dawson's Thunder Thighs

[Verse 1: Kimya Dawson]
G
Ever since I was a kid
D
On the backs of my two eyelids
C
I hid two Teleprompters there
Transmitting words from who knows where
G
A walkie-talkie on a mission
D
Roger, roger will I listen
C
Or will I just pass it along
In the form of a sing-a-long
G
When muse annoys, devoid and null
D
I feel a tingle in my skull
C
Like ticker tape the words appear
There's a parade between my ears
G
I preach self-love, I know it’s true
D
It's easier to say than do
C
I sing these messages to you
But now I need to hear them too
G D C
I am beautiful I am powerful I am strong and I am lovable
G D C
I am beautiful I am powerful I am strong and I am lovable

[Verse 2: Aesop Rock]
G
I was laying bricks in a line
Yap full of dog toy
D
Picturing a life beyond that of a protocol droid
C
Bleep bloop boy ox boycott pea soup
First learn to eat pain at St. Peter's preschool-yum
G
Now that's a painkiller I can speak through
D
Airbrush letters on a pristine gene pool
C
See, my mother said her father drew a ton
But all his cartoons had been swallowed by the Susquehanna flood in '72
G
The year that he would subsequently pass
D
I know he had a stroke but I assume that's only half
C
But now I'm signing up for finger-drawing class in a tux like a gentleman
Marrying his ash to his dust
G
Last on the kickball team draft pick-list
D
First to the King Kullen practicing his kickflips
C
I'd like to say it's 'cause I was a rebel
Truthfully it's easier to say "oh hell" instead of "hello"
G
Hi, you need to get out more
D
I dunno, I don't wanna be there when the geometry domino
C
You need to get out more
Maybe, or maybe his pace is better suited for pacing
G
You need to get out more
D
Never- I am nailed to the floor-I am snail under pressure
C
You need to get out more
Fine

[Verse 3: Kimya Dawson]
G
Ever since I was a kid
D
On the backs of my two eyelids
C
I hid two Teleprompters there
Transmitting words from who knows where
G
And this is why when I'm on stage
D
My eyes are closed, I'm in a haze
C
I looks like I'm made out of clay
I'm overwhelmed and under-glazed
G
I'm making vases out of snakes
D
I'm a kiln half-full of mistakes
C
When kneading it, air’s overlooked
It's gonna crack when it gets cooked
G
So self-forgiveness is the key
D
To re-sculpting my sanity
C
Mindfulness, humility
And taking time to care for me
G
I preach self-love, I know it’s true
D
It's easier to say than do
C
I sing these messages to you
But now I need to hear them too
G D C
I am beautiful I am powerful I am strong and I am loveable
G D C
I am beautiful I am powerful I am strong and I am loveable

[Verse 4: Aesop Rock]
G
I was laying bricks in a line
Yap full of copper-top
D
Picturing a life beyond that of a dish-washer
C
Pot buzz ping
Criss-crossed arms in a tub ring
Learned heartbreak on a Zelda-1 sub screen-numb
G D
Learned dark days by the scent of poached dove meat
Some part ways and it's fugly
C
Maybe the sum of the parts became lesser
That each individually making the same gesture
G
And you don't wanna interrupt the overlapping network
D
So you throw a bag together and elope with cabin pressure
C
To disappear instead of interfere with any customs
Or differing definitions of liberty and justice
G
Big dummy dig a hole in the dirt
D
He put his head in the hole; he is alone in this world
C
And dying slowly from the comfort of his home full of worms
Until you hear a little voice say "yo let's go get dessert"
Wait-what?
G
You need to get out more
D
I dunno-over 2 million dead bats in NY alone
C
You need to get out more
Maybe, maybe not
Maybe I'll just stay back and survey the lot
G
You need to get out more
D
Never- I am nailed to the floor in a jail made of deserts
C
You need to get out more
OK
