Biografia:

Depois de ter terminado com o The Jam, um dos maiores sucessos da música inglesa, Paul Weller resolve mudar o rumo de sua carreira artística, isso por volta de 1982. Weller resolve trabalhar com sons mais ligados ao soul, ao jazz, e à música negra americana, coisas que ele achava que não cabiam em uma perfomance de uma banda punk. Por isso, em 1983, junto com o tecladista Mick Talbot, também saído de outra banda mod, a The Merton Parkas, cria o Style Council.
