Biografia:
A banda começou como um projeto paralelo de Matt Sharp, então baixista do Weezer nos meados da década de 90. O primeiro album, Return of the Rentals (1995), traz 10 musicas em um estilo até então único na música alternativa: guitarras distorcidas aliadasà sintetizadores Moog, violinos e os vocais alternados de Sharp e Cherielynn Westrich além das irmãs Haden, da banda That Dog.
Sharp acabou saindo do Weezer e continuando apenas com o Rentals
