Biografia:
Os membros originais (e alguns membros posteriores) do Marshall Tucker tocavam em diversas bandas diferentes na região de Spartanburg desde o início de 1960. Em 1966, membros de diversas bandas se fundiram para formar a Toy Factory, em homenagem a Toy Caldwell. A banda era formada por Tommy Caldwell, Toy Caldwell, Doug Gray, Jerry Eubanks, George McCorkle e Franklin Wilkie.
No final dos anos 1960, alguns membros da banda foram servir nas Forças Armadas dos EUA na Guerra do Vietnã.
