Biografia:
O grupo foi formado em 1950 atrasado quando o Chanteurs (Record, Robert "Squirrel" Lester, e Clarence Johnson) uniram-se com Marshall Thompson e Creadel "Red" Jones dos Desideros para formar The Hi-lites. Desejando adicionar um tributo à sua cidade natal, Chicago, eles mudaram seu nome para "Marshall e da Chi-Lites", em 1964. Johnson deixou mais tarde naquele ano, e seu nome foi posteriormente reduzido para The Chi-Lites.
O registo foi o grupo 'songwriter s primária, embora frequentemente colaborou com outros, como Barbara Acklin.
