Biografia:
Soil é uma banda americana de metal alternativo formada em Chicago, Illinois, em 1997 por três dos quatro integrantes da banda de death metal Oppressor, junto com o guitarrista de outra banda do mesmo estilo chamada Broken Hope, como um projeto paralelo às suas outras bandas. Ryan McCombs mais tarde foi recrutado para os vocais. Depois de alguns lançamentos independentes, a banda foi o primeiro grupo de rock a assinar com a J Records, e pela gravadora a banda lança em 2001 o álbum Scars
