Biografia:
Phil Vassar nació en Mayo 28 de 1964 en Lynchburg, Virginia. Mientras estudiaba en la universidad, optó por tocar el piano y eventualmente encontró trabajo tocando para clubes como cantante. Decidió mudarse a Nashville, Tennessee para comenzar una carrera musical. Eventualmente, obtuvo un pequeño contrato de publicidad pero no tuvo éxitos con él.
