Well I lately wandered over here to search for my Uncle Dan,
Am C E7
He left the town of Galway in the year of '51,
C
Where he gone to I don't know

But back to Galway I can't go,
Am
Without my Uncle Dan.

C
Have you seen my Uncle Dan McCann?
G
Typical bit of a Galwayman,

Am
My Uncle Dan McCann.

Well let me tell you about my Uncle Dan
G
By God he was a mighty man,
Am C E7
He swam the River Liffey twice a day
C
And he ran three rounds of the Phoenix Park,
G
And dance and sing just like a lark,
C G F E7
And he wasn't afraid to go home in the dark,
Am
My Uncle Dan McCann.

C
So have you seen my Uncle Dan McCann?
G
Typical bit of a Galwayman,
Am C E7
He came out to the USA in the year of '51.

C G F E7
You'd oblige me if you'd help me find

My Uncle Dan McCann.

God help the man who opens his jaws
Am
To my Uncle Dan McCann.

He wasn't afraid of the bayonet point,

He belonged to the fight in '69,
Am
My Uncle Dan McCann.

C
So here's to my Uncle Dan McCann,
G
Typical bit of a Galwayman,
Am C E7
Came out to the USA in the year of '51.
C
If any of you neighbours living here
G
Have seen or heard of him anywhere,
C G F E7
You'd oblige me if you'd help me find
