Biografia:
Mercyful Fate é uma banda da Dinamarca formada em 1981. O grupo é associado ao Black Metal por suas letras de clima sombrio, apesar de possuir uma sonoriade de Heavy Metal bastante "puro". As músicas são caracterizadas por estruturas complexas, virtuose nas guitarras e falsetes altíssimos executados pelo vocalista King Diamond.
Após o lançamento do aclamado Don't Break The Oath, a banda se dissolveu devido a divergências musicais. King Diamond seguiu em carreira solo e Hank Shermann formou a banda de Hard Rock Fate.
