Matt Wertz é um compositor e músico nascido em Liberty, Missouri mas agora mora em Nashville, Tennessee. Seu interesse em arte visual o levou à Universidade de Illinois em Urbana-Champaign, onde se graduou em Design Industrial. Foi enquanto ele estava na faculadae que seus talentos e ambições musicais cresceram. Após sua formação, Matt ganhou um considerável número de fãs através da realização de Young Life campos.
