The Pains of Being Pure at Heart é um quarteto de Nova York. Despontou em 2009 como parte de uma nova geração de noise-pop (nugazers – novos shoegazers). A inocência e fragilidade de seu nome vêm direto do espírito de inadequação e imaturidade da geração C86. Com sua história começando em 2007, a banda lança seu primeiro álbum em 2009.
