Biografia:
Formado em Colchester (UK) em 1979, o Modern English foi originalmente uma banda punk chamada Lepers. Contando com Robbie Grey (vocais, guitarra), Gary McDowell (guitarra) e Richard Brown (bateria), o Lepers tocava frequentemente em festas. Depois que Mick Conroy (baixo) e Stephen Walker (teclados) foram recrutados para o line-up, mudam o nome da banda Modern English.
