INTRO: (elec. power chords palm muted with occasional acoustic flourishes)
E (E, A, B) x4

E A B E A B E
What do these marching orders mean? Some halflit fairy tale I move bout their dreams
A B E A B E (E, A, B)x2
It’s what they do, step one-two. Marching ten paces in front of you
E A B E A B E
Let’s put this countdown clock away. Unfinished parts of the deathray on the lawn
A B E A B E (E, A, B)x2
Let them rust. Turn to dust, what the heart can’t imagine will trust

F#m B E D
They, they say we can’t make this stuff up, but what else could we make?
F#m B E D
They say we can’t make this stuff up, but what else could we make?

(E, A, B)x2

E A B E A B E
What do these marching orders say? Spelled out in a forgotten language, they leave
A B E A B E (E, A, B)x2
the voice wrecked, don’t connect, what the fuse was there to protect.

F#m B E D
They, they say we can’t make this stuff up, but what else could we make?

They say we can’t make this stuff up, but what else could we make?

E, (elec. strum once:) E, F#m, C#m, B, E, F#m, C#m

E A B E A B E A B
All your marching orders stay? Are we as past as many ways oh hell no, we won’t go,
