The Elected têm ganho rapidamente nome no panorama alternativo com o álbum Sun, Sun, Sun (2006), depois da estreia em 2003 com Me First. Formados pelo guitarrista e co-compositor do Rilo Kiley - banda de referência do rock alternativo bucólico dos Estados Unidos -, Blake Sennett, o grupo conta ainda com o multi-instrumentista Mike Bloom (ou Cave, para os amigos), o guitarrista e baixista Nate Greely e o baterista Sander Steen.
