The Band foi uma banda de rock ativa de 1967 a 1976 e de 1983 a 1999. O grupo original (1967-1976) era formado por quatro canadenses, Robbie Robertson (guitarra, piano, vocais), Richard Manuel (piano, gaita, bateria, saxofone, órgão, vocais), Garth Hudson (órgão, piano, clavinete, acordeão, sintetizador, saxofone) e Rick Danko (baixo, violino, trombone, vocais) — e um estadunidense, Levon Helm (bateria, bandolim, guitarra, baixo, vocais).
