Biografia:
A banda começou em L.A., em 1967 e é considerada umas das melhores bandas de lá; misturam psicodélico, Jazz e Hard rock; muito instumental e bons solos.
A formação original era: Randy California (guitarra), Jay Ferguson (vocal e percussão), Mark Andes (baixo), Ed Cassidy (padrasto de Randi e baterista), e o tecladista John Locke. Eles foram convocados a tocar no Woodstock antes de Hendrix, mas recusaram o convite, pra ir em turnê mundial. Antes do festival, ninguém pensava que fazer parte dele seria garantia de sucesso.
