Biografia:
Yazoo foi formado em 1982, em Londres, Reino Unido, por Vince Clarke e pela vocalista Genevieve Alison 'Alf ' Moyet (Alison Moyet).
Vince tinha acabado de deixar os Depeche Mode após o lançamento do álbum de lançamento, "Speak And Spell" (1981) e hoje ele faz parte dos Erasure.
Moyet também tinha outra banda de blues, de nome The Screaming Abdabs, que, ao contrário dos Depeche Mode, não deu muito certo.
Ela colocou um anúncio na imprensa da música procurando um músico, e Clarke respondeu rapidamente.
