Biografia:

Um grupo de oito amigos de infância formam a banda UB40 na área de Moseley, Birmingham, inicialmente tocando covers de músicas de seus astros favoritos de reggae.
O grupo fez sua estréia ao vivo em fevereiro de 1979 e passou o restante do ano compondo músicas e apresentando-se ao vivo em pubs e clubes locais.

1980 - A banda é convidada por Chrissie Hynde, dos Pretenders, para apoiar seu grupo em uma turnê. O UB40 produz seu single de estréia, King/Food For Thought, pela Graduate, selo local independente.
