Deb e Steve começaram a compor logo na primeira noite que se conheceram e pouco depois formaram o The Weepies. The Weepies é uma banda de um básico indie-pop, bem pop mesmo.
Ela, Deb Talan, uma cantora de Boston que recebeu boa críticas já no seu primeiro álbum, Something Burning. O Club Passim, tem ela como artista da casa, mas naquela noite ela vai lá para assistir ao show de um cantor de Nova Iorque, Steven Tannen, o qual ela tem ouvido sem parar.
