Biografia:
Mike Scott, vocalista, letrista e único membro constante do Waterboys, nasceu em Edimburgo na Escócia, em 1958. Seu primeiro contato com a música foi por intermédio do fanzine Jungleland e também por tocar em várias bandas punks da cidade. Quando terminou o colégio, Scott passou a estudar filosofia e inglês e mudou-se para Londres com sua banda, a Another Pretty Face. Com o fim do grupo Scott cria o Waterboys, em 1981, cujo nome foi retirado de um trecho da letra de The Kids, de Lou Reed.
