The Runaways foi uma banda de rock de Califórnia, Estados Unidos. Traduzindo ao português, seu nome significa "As fugitivas". A banda tornou-se famosa por ser composta somente por mulheres que tocavam rock and roll, mostrando que não só os homens conseguem fazer rock de qualidade. Entre suas canções mais conhecidas estão Cherry Bomb, Queens of Noise e You Drive Me Wild.
A idéia inicial de criar uma banda só de garotas foi de Kim Fowley, um empresário procurando pelo próximo grande sucesso.
