Biografia:
John Mayall nasceu em Macclesfield na Inglaterra, dia 29 de novembro de 1933 e cresceu ouvindo a coleção de jazz do pai, guitarrista. Logo em seguida descobriu o blues. Foi influenciado principalmente por Leadbelly, Albert Ammons, Pinetop Smith e Eddie Land. Aos 13 anos de idade começou a aprender piano, na casa do vizinho, de maneira autodidata, guitarra, que ele conseguia emprestada e gaita, comprando algumas de segunda mão.
Aos 15 anos de idade Mayall dá uma demonstração de sua personalidade e excentricidade
