Nascida em 1979, Jaci Velásquez é uma das cantoras latinas, ao lado de Gloria Estefan e Shakira, de maior sucesso musical. Seu nome completo de solteira é Jacquelyn Davette Velasquez, filha do evangelista David Velásquez e evangelica se destacou principalmente no meio cristão com seus louvores romanticos ou batidas latinas. Com 13 anos de idade fez sua primeira apresentação cantando na Casa Branca e a partir daí parece que a moça passou a ter gosto por apoiar o governo americano.
