J. Mascis (nascido Joseph Mascis - 10 de Dezembro de 1965) é um músico estadunidense, provavelmente mais conhecido como vocalista, guitarrista, compositor e líder do grupo Dinosaur Jr.. Mascis também é produtor e compositor de trilhas sonoras.
Nascido em Amherst, Massachussets, filho de um dentista local, Mascis fundou o grupo de hardcore Deep Wound, que teve curta existência, com seus colegas de escola Lou Barlow e Scott Helland no começo dos anos 80.

As always I don't know what J is singing. Just my take. There are a lot of hammer
on and offs and J's magic occurring that I've not tabbed. The piano in this song is a nice touch. J is a
phenomenal songwriter. If I could mix Issac Brocks (Modest Mouse) lyrics with J's melodies, leads,
and discernable lyrics, I think my head would explode?
