I Hate Kate?Darling Thieves.
Em meados de 2004, com a saída do vocalista Justin Mauriello da banda Zebrahead por conflitos de interesses musicais, a banda I Hate Kate, de Huntington Beach, California, é surgida com Justin nos vocais e guitarra, Jeremy Berghorst na guitarra, Scott Hayden no baixo e Mike Lund na bateria.
Em 2006, a banda lançou o primeiro EP, entitulado "Act One", depois de 2 anos lançando músicas apenas para a internet, como "Bed of Black Roses" e "Always Something".
