Biografia:
George Duke nasceu em San Rafael, Califórnia. Quando tinha apenas quatro anos de idade, sua mãe o levou para ver Duke Ellington em concerto, a partir daí ficou aficcionado pelo piano.
Com a idade de dezesseis anos, George tinha tocado com um número de grupos de jazz da High School. Ele foi fortemente influenciado por Miles Davis e ao som de jazz-soul de Les McCann e Cal Tjader.
