Forseti foi um projeto neofolk fundado por Andreas Ritter, nascido na Alemanha. Suas músicas são descritas como um estilo acústico, inspirado no dark folk, em uma atmosfera rica de instrumentos, como violinos e flautas. Suas letras são baseadas em temas como natureza, religião, melancolia, além de citações literárias e mitológicas. A banda teve início em 1997, logo que Ritter comprou seu primeiro violão.
