Biografia:
A novaiorquina Esperanza Spalding é um caso especial de precocidade. Abraçou o baixo aos 15 e três anos depois já dava aula na que os especialistas chamam de a maior escola de música particular do mundo, a Berklee, em Boston. Aos 23, já tocou com ninguém menos que Pat Metheny e Joe Lovano, e foi descrita recentemente pelo apresentador David Letterman como "the coolest person we've ever had on the show".
