O duo Los Angeles Eastmountainsouth cria seu próprio country / folk que mescla características do sul do seu país. Composta pelos vocalistas Kat Maslich e Peter Adams, a parceiria Eastmountainsouth foi formada em 1999. Maslich, que foi, nascida e criada em Roanoke, VA, em Clinch Mountain, tentou encontrar o seu lugar na música, de curta duração com stints em Nova York, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, e Atlanta. Ela veio para frente e para trás, para Los Angeles em busca de clareza, e de uma chance de reunião com Adams.
