El veterano vocalista de rock Burton Cummings saltó a la fama con la banda canadiense The Guess Who, la canción "These Eyes" es uno de los clásicos inmortales de la música popular.

En 1964, The Guess Who le probó a la juventud del Canadá que sus grupos podían tener canciones exitosas, no solo en su país, también en todo el mundo. En aquel entonces pensar que en medio de la invasión británica "Shakin' All Over" pudiera igualar a los Beatles o a la respuesta norteamericana vestidos de Beach Boys era inconcebible.
