Falecimento: 15/8/1958 A data correta de nascimento de William Lee Conley Broozy não é conhecida. Costuma-se tomar como 26 de junho de 1893 na cidade de Scott, Mississipi, mas há documentos que atestam como sendo cinco anos mais tarde. Com 17 irmãos, Big Bill era filho de ex-escravos das plantações de algodão.
