Biografia:
Bathory formada em 1983 na cidade de Estocolmo, capital sueca, quando o multi-instrumentista Seth Quorthon e dois amigos, o baterista, Jonas Akerlund e o baixista, Freddan Hereafter, se juntaram para tocar covers. Como a maioria das bandas, o Bathory começou em uma garagem, onde segundo o próprio Quorthon era tão pequeno que mal cabia os músicos.
O nome Bathory origina da condessa húngara Erzsébet Báthory, considerada a serial-killer mais famosa do mundo.
