Biografia:
Average White Band conseguiu a proeza de ganhar credibilidade de público e crítica tocando funk, muito embora seus membros fossem brancos e escoceses. O som da AWB evocava o rhythm and blues americano. A formação original da banda incluía o cantor e baixista Alan Gorrie, os guitaristas Hamish Stuart e Onnie McIntyre, o sax tenor Malcolm Duncan, o tecladista/saxofonista Roger Ball, e o batesrista Robbie McIntosh. Todos veteranos egressos de grupos escoceses de soul e jazz.
