Anna Vogelzang

Family Band

por Anna Vogelzang
Anna Vogelzang

Biografia:

"The Wisconsin troubadour has a penchant for playfulness when it comes to her music; however, when she gets serious, few craft a better folk song." - The Huffington Post

Anna Vogelzang, unavoidably soulful singer/songwriter and newly-transplanted Midwesterner sings the best kind of songs, the ones about feelings. Her latest full-length venture, Canary in a Coal Mine, was created completely through fan funding and is being independently released on September 20, 2011.

This isn't exact, and for the record it's nothing like what's on the album. However, it
really nice if you play it nice and slow. I have no idea what the actual chords are, but
is very playable and singable. It's just something fun to mess around with. If someone
figure out a version that's closer to the actual recording, I'd be grateful.

out on me and told me to include it.

G C
How about we move to Cleveland and hide out there at some movie store
G D
and start a little family band that plays
G C
How about I make the scary choices just so long as you agree
G D
to throw out any food that’s sat for days

*follow progression from the first verse*
What would happen if I left you for the boys in Chi-town bars

who kissed the best & gave you fare to take cabs home

What would happen if we went to sea and spent our mornings getting brown

and drank wine till we threw up overboard

What would happen if there was no war and all we watched were movie stars

who starved themselves and told us we meant shit

How about I love you harder than I know to love myself

until I lose all my capacity for it

CHORUS
G Em C D
Baby just press record on your heart’s tapedeck and make a song
G Em C D
for all the things we might have been
Chords are the same for each chorus

*Follow the progression from the first verse*

How about we start and end our days with images & art

instead of all the things that yesterday we missed

How about we go to school until we’ve lost all inspiration

wonder why we let our parents promise this

How about we go our separate ways and write long lists

of all the things we never really wanted to admit

How about we burn the lists of all the people that we made out with at parties

and with whom we learned to kiss

G Em C D
Baby just press record on your heart’s tapedeck and make a song
G Em C D
for all the things we might have been
Chords are the same for each chorus

*Follow chord progression from first verse*

What would happen if you gave your clothes away

and made new dresses out of curtains, napkins, towels, and bedsheets

What would happen if we lived in separate cities long enough

until we grew apart and forgot how to sleep
